Children
Foundation Stage
Play is learning in the Foundation Stage
There are four overarching principles in the early years. These are:
· Every child is a unique child
· Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships
· Children learn and develop well in enabling environments
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates
If you would like to find out more please find our Foundation Stage handbook on our class webpage, Class Information.
Key Stage 1 and 2
There is a strong emphasis on the teaching of literacy and numeracy in Key Stages 1 and 2 across morning lessons. Intervention programmes and phonic group work are integral to morning sessions. All other subjects are delivered through creative approaches to teaching and learning. The school is adventurous in its approach to developing the skills for learning to learn. For example: resilience, independence, curiosity and meaning making.
